THE APOSTLE'S DOCTRINEEmail: ·
Apostle's Doctrine,Holiness unto God
·
Statement of Beliefs
We of the Apostle's Doctrine will Teach the word of GOD, as it is written in the 66 books of the bible,(King James) to the letter, without adding to or changing ANY THING.
We want to warn the true believers of GOD, to watch as well as pray,
do not get caught up in the way a man sounds,or plays on words,
some false preachers would have you to believe that GOD is only giving him the true word, that he has all the knowledge, and that all any one else knows is Acts 2:38.
Some will tell you they are the only group right, and that you must join in with them to be saved.
I encourge you to read the bible for your self, and except nothing that is not written therein.
peace be unto you and yours.
QUESTION OF THE DAY --WHAT IS THE APOSTLE'S DOCTRINE, WHO WERE THE APOSTLE'S, WHO TAUGHT THEM?,
IF WE ARE TO STAND ON THE APOSTLE'S DOCTRINE, IS IT RIGHT TO ADD ANY THING TO IT?, SHOULD WE AS PREACHERS USE ANY OTHER BOOKS THAT THE APOSTLES DID NOT USE?
They continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine ,We read this about the first church of Christ: "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers" (Acts 2:42).
To really be Christians and churches of Christ, we too must continue steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine.
To continue steadfastly is to persevere, to remain constant, to carry on without wavering.
What is the apostles' doctrine? It is what the apostles taught by the authority of Christ through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, as recorded in the New Testament.
Jesus said to Peter: "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 16:19).
To the twelve He said: "Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 18:18). The apostles' doctrine is not something they invented themselves. It is in complete agreement with the determination of God.
Through divine guidance the apostles established doctrines and practices for the church, nothing other than what God had established in heaven.
Through divine inspiration the apostles also revoked certain things, such as the Old Covenant, things God had also revoked in heaven.
The apostles were ambassadors of Christ led by God's Spirit.
When Jesus gave the seventy-two prophetic power and sent them out to preach, He said: "He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me" (Luke 10:16).
One trick of some false teachers is to claim that we must listen to the words of Jesus in the Gospels, but that we do not have to obey the teaching of the apostles in the later books.
But in the Gospels Jesus says we must listen to His apostles and that we reject Him if we reject their words.
Only a portion of the doctrine of Christ was made known during His ministry on earth. After His ascension He revealed many additional teachings to the apostles through the Holy Spirit. Shortly before His death He said: "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come" (John 16:12,13). "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you" (John 14:26).
The Holy Spirit revealed all truth to the apostles, He taught them all things, also things Jesus had not yet made known during his life on earth.
When people claim that the words of Jesus in the Gospels are authoritative but the words of the apostles are not, they are rejecting the words of Jesus in the Gospels because He says that we must obey the apostles or we reject both Him and the Father.
The church is built on the teaching of the apostles, which is nothing other than the teaching of Christ, made known through them and subsequently recorded in the New Testament. Together with Christ, the apostles and prophets form the foundation of the church: "Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone" (Ephesians 2:19,20).
Also in the first century there were false teachers who rejected the authority of the apostles. Paul warned: "If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord" (1 Corinthians 14:37).
Among the various admonitions in his letter, Paul had just said: "Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak" (1 Corinthians 14:34). This is God's command through Paul. Someone who does not recognize such teachings of Paul, is not recognized.
We must avoid people who reject the authority of the apostles: "Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple" (Romans 16:17,18).
People who deviate from the doctrine of the apostles, cause division and apostasy. We must note them and avoid them, keep away from them. Even though they come with smooth words and flattering speech, they are not servants of Christ, they serve their own belly, their own base and ignoble desires. We are commanded to avoid them.
It is only through the apostles and their teaching that we can have fellowship with God and Christ. John wrote: "That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ" (1 John 1:3).
The names of the twelve apostles are on the foundations of the wall of Zion (Revelation 21:14). We will not gain entrance to the heavenly city unless we continue steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine.

The Apocrypha
It is true, the Roman Catholic Church does have extra books in the versions of Bible that it uses, and these extra books are called "The Apocrypha". These books were Never accepted as part of the Bible. They were rejected by the Early Church and by the Early Church Councils. The bottom line is that those books never received the endorsement that the 66 books of the Bible did.
The Regular Bible is a compilation of 66 books, 39 in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament. The Apocrypha are books that Not part of those 66 books
However the term Apocrypha often refers to a much wider selection of books, than merely those that are in the Roman Catholic Bible. Some people today use the term "Apocrypha", when all they mean is books that sound religious but were never a part of the Bible. (Publishers like to do this, because they can sell more books). All apocryphal books were rejected because they were in doctrinal contradiction to the 66 books, and because they have either internal inconsistencies, or because they are known to contradict history. Apocryphal books were also rejected because the Jews refuse to recognize any books outside of the 39 books of the Old Testament (for inclusion into their Old Testament), and also because Jesus Christ never quoted nor used ANY apocryphal book.
Defending the RCC Apocryphal books usually puts Roman Catholics in a very difficult position. On the one hand, we can document that several of those books are historically innacurate, on the other hand, Catholics try to use those books to prove the sovereignty of God. But if God were sovereign with those books, surely He would be sovereign enough to avoid historical errors. The answer - is that He IS historical enough to do this, and therefore those books are counterfeit.
As soon as the Apostles & Disciples had finished their letters, the devil stepped in to try to confuse people. The Canon of the N.T. was NOT established by Church Councils. The Canon of the N.T. was kept and guarded by the Apostles, until the last one of them, John, (about 90-95 AD) wrote the last book (Revelations), closed the Canon, and instructed the churches under the guidance of the Apostles...which books were genuine, and which books were counterfeit.
The Church councils later simply affirmed (rather than "Decided")
Obviously, when the last Apostle to be alive (John) died around 90-95 A.D, then what happened ? Did all of the other churches - which had been operating all over the world, suddenly stop and cry for a Pope to rule over them ??? Of course not.
Their own claim to authenticity (of these churches all over the world) - was that so many of those churches - had been personally visited by one of disciples ( or more) or that the Apostles had stayed in a particular city...for a period of time..in order to establish and found a church that would be the True church, made up of the Real body of Christ.
There was no Sacrament, there certainly was no host, and everyone took communion as ...like the Bible says...an "Act of Remembrace" to remember what the Lord did for everyone through his death & resurrection.
But the point is that the Authenticity of Each of those churches, was ALREADY established, through the Personal visits & work - of the Apostles themselves. So, the LAST action any of those church bodies would ever take, would be to erase their own authenticity....by suggesting that they should all volunteer to hold everything - until a successor to Peter had been found.
The real point here - not to be missed - is that the successor to Peter...were the OTHER Apostles, such as John, and not any fictional person who never existed. THe Apostles were real. They wrote books and carried on wide ministries all over the Roman Empire.
John the Apostle (Saint John) was still writing after the death of Peter. And nowhere in the books written by John does he say anything about anyone needing to follow Peter. No, that claim (about Peter) was simply invented by the Roman Catholic Church, After it was created by the Roman Empire.
Those Churches and those Apostles that guided them received their mantle of authority Directly from Jesus Christ. God was big enough ! He did not need to only use ONE Apostle to establish His church. That is why God established TWELVE Apostles...and many others to help them. God must have been pleased with their work. The last book of the Bible says that those 12 Apostles will be ruling with Jesus Christ in the Millennium.
There are many counterfeits to the Bible. Some of those books even claim to be inspired. Several of them claim to be inspired not by God, but by Angels. Whether those Angels are fallen or not becomes self-evident, as those "angels" are inspiring books that are clearly opposite to what God had Already written in the 66 books.
Roman Catholics are usually taught that the Apocrypha was canonized early. The truth is that they were Not Canonized even by the RCC until the Council of Trent, One Thousand Five Hundred Years AFTER CHRIST. The Council of Trent was trying to stop the work of the Reformation of the Church.
The Cardinals & Archbishops could not fight Luther or Calvin intellectually on doctrine, so they expanded the definition of the Canon, in order to claim that Protestant doctrine was wrong. (and if you think that you can intellectually handle what Calvin says, you can put your mind to the test through his main work - It was the RCC that continued to go farther and farther astray,...in an attempt to claim that New Doctrines were old doctrines...
The RCC also pronounced "Anathema" all those who disagreed with the Council of Trent, who refused to agree that the Apocryphal books should be inspired on the same level of inspiration as the Bible. Wouldn’t want all that "thinking" to get out of hand...
Prior to the time of the Council of Trent in the 1500s, the Roman Catholic Bibles did NOT include the Apocrypha as being part of the Formal Bible, nor as being Inspired in the same sense as the 66 books of the Bible. The acceptance of the Apocrypha as being "inspired" did not exist - for the first 1500 years of Christianity.
Some of those books are interesting. The forces that oppose Jesus Christ usually do make their work interesting. But they are a long way from being inspired...in any true sense of the word.
As we can see there many books, but I say again we must stay with the ones that are Truly divinely inspired . Why are we so insistent...on trying to find God outside the books of the Bible ?
One of the reasons is that we think we know what the Bible actually says. But many people have actually Never read it. A good place to start reading it, is in the New Testament book of John.
The bottom line is that we CAN take God at His word: We should try to find Him, where He told us that He could be found...through His Word, the Bible. All 66 books and add no more.

Should we keep the Sabbath or not?
Exodus 20:8; 23:12; 31:15; Deuteronomy 5:12; Leviticus 26:2 and and Romans 14:5; Colossians 2:16
It has been brought to my attention, that some APOSTOLIC OR HOLINESS churches are in error on this subject.
Keep the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8) - "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 "Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
(Exodus 23:12) -"Six days you are to do your work, but on the seventh day you shall cease from labor in order that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female slave, as well as your stranger, may refresh themselves."
(Exodus 31:15) - "For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, holy to the Lord; whoever does any work on the sabbath day shall surely be put to death."
Deuteronomy 5:12) - "Observe the sabbath day to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you."
(Leviticus 26:2) - "You shall keep My sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary I am the Lord."
Don't keep the Sabbath Romans 14:5) - "One man regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Let each man be fully convinced in his own mind."
(Colossians 2:16) - "Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day.
It was the custom of the Jews to come together on the Sabbath, which is Saturday, cease work, and worship God. Of the 10 commandments listed in Exodus 20:1-17, only nine of them were reinstituted by in the New Testament. (Six in Matthew 19:18, murder, adultery, stealing, false witness, honor parents, and worshiping God; Romans 13:9, coveting. Worshiping God properly covers the first three commandments) The one that was not reaffirmed was the one about the Sabbath. Instead, Jesus said that He is the Lord of the Sabbath (Matt. 12:8).
In creation God rested on the seventh day. But, since God is all powerful, He doesn’t get tired. He doesn’t need to take a break and rest. So, why did does it say that He rested? The reason is simple: Mark 2:27 says, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath." In other words, God established the Sabbath as a rest for His people, not because He needed a break, but because we are mortal and need a time of rest, of focus on God. In this, our spirits and bodies are both renewed.
The O.T. system of Law required keeping the Sabbath as part of the overall moral, legal, and sacrificial system by which the Jewish people satisfied God’s requirements for behavior, government, and forgiveness of sins. The Sabbath was part of the Law in that sense. In order to "remain" in favor with God, you had to also keep the Sabbath. If it was not kept, then the person was in sin and would often be punished (Ezekiel 18:4; Rom. 6:23; Deut. 13:1-9; Num. 35:31; Lev. 20:2, etc.).
But with Jesus’ atonement, and justification by faith (Rom. 5:1), we no longer are required to keep the Law and hence the Sabbath which was only a shadow of things to come (Col. 2:16-17). We are not under Law, but grace (Rom. 6:14-15).
The Sabbath is fulfilled in Jesus because in Him we have rest (Matt. 11:28). We are not under obligation to keep the Law and this goes for the Sabbath as well.
